My mother is Asian, and my father is white. I'm Asian, and my brother is white due to genetics. My mother was a refugee who came to the US after the war. My father and mother met through work, and after two years of dating, they married. My father is from a wealthy family, and my mother was able to retire after their first year of marriage. When I was six, we moved to a wealthy suburb, and my brother was born shortly after. Our father pays for pretty much everything, including my University and my brother's University.

My brother met his wife at college. She was older than him, and they dated for seven years before getting married. She's a very nice woman and treats me like her own little sister (the age difference), and my mother adored her. About a year ago, my parents had an argument about money (my father's side), and my mother said she wanted a divorce. The argument escalated, and my parents got into an argument where my mother accused my father of using money to guilt her and buy her love, and she went on a rant about how she was better off without him. I remember it because I was worried things were going to escalate. I begged them to stop, but ultimately, they went to their own bedrooms. They didn't talk for months, and then suddenly made up. I was glad they did because I didn't want to lose my family. I was sad for a long time because they weren't talking.

I don't believe in starting drama and stirring the pot, so I stayed away from things I didn't involve. I never said my parents' fight to anyone because that would have started gossip. I never said anything bad about my father to my mother and never said anything bad about my mother to my father. I just wanted to keep the peace and have my happy family back.

Last week, my brother and his wife were angry that my father had bought me a car. My brother complained because he had worked hard for his own car, and my father shouldn't have bought one for me. I apologized, saying that it was my birthday present, but my brother didn't seem to care. His wife excused herself and went to her bedroom. When my brother left, she came out and told my parents that my father had spoilt me and made me a "princess" because he felt guilty about what he had said and done to my mother. My parents were silent. On Sunday, my parents came over and gave me money to go shopping. My brother and his wife were angry and said that my father was using me to get back at my mother and that I was doing it too.

I thought I should have stuck up for my parents, and I should have said that my father was just spoiling me. Instead, I said that my father was doing it for everyone because my brother and his wife were spoilt too. My brother and his wife got angry, and my brother said that my father didn't buy him expensive things. His wife then said that my father was racist because he spent more money on me because I was Asian, and he felt bad about what he said, whereas my brother was white, and he was white too, so he didn't want to buy him things because he didn't want to be seen as racist. My mother suddenly stood up and said that my father wasn't like that and that he loves us all equally. My father then said that he was just spoiling me because I was young, and my brother was an adult, so he didn't need things. My mother told my brother and his wife to leave.

On Monday, my brother and his wife returned. I apologized for Sunday, and my wife apologized that I had gotten them angry. My brother and his wife then said that they forgave me but not my mother and father. My mother and father said they forgave everyone. My brother and his wife then said that they forgave me but my mother and father were racist towards them because my mother and father didn't want to mix with white people. They said that they had to go to an Asian restaurant for my birthday, which was unfair to them.

After they left, my parents were really upset. I apologized for my mistakes, and they forgave me. I then asked my mother if she had said racist things to my brother's wife, and she said she hadn't. My father then said that my brother's wife had said racist things about him and my mother. He said that my brother's wife had said that my mother was bringing "Asian drama" into their lives. My mother then said that my brother's wife had said that my mother was a "gold digger Asian" who had married my father for his wealth. My father said that my brother's wife had said that my mother was a racist who hated white people.

I didn't know what to say, so I asked if they wanted to talk to my brother about it. My father said that my brother didn't care about what my brother's wife had said and didn't care that she was racist. My mother said that my brother's wife had told her that my parents were racist for not inviting their white side of the family to my birthday party. My father said that his family lived far away, and he hadn't talked to them in more than ten years. My mother said that my brother's wife had yelled at her and my father, saying that they were racist and should be ashamed. I then asked my parents if they had said anything back, and they said they hadn't. My mother said that she didn't want to fight with my brother's wife because my brother loved her.

I said that I would talk to my brother's wife and say something about what she said. My father said that my brother would get angry if I did, and my mother said that my brother's wife would just lie about me too. My mother then said that my brother's wife didn't like me because I was too pretty, and my father said that he didn't think that was true. They then told me to do whatever I thought was right and to do whatever made me happy.

Last night, I finally talked to my brother about it, and he didn't care and said that my parents were racist too. I then said that everyone should try to make up and move past their arguments, and my brother said no. He then said that his wife was right, and my mother and father were racist towards him and his wife. My mother and father then asked my brother to come and talk to them. My brother said that his wife didn't want him to, and my parents asked my brother and his wife to come and talk to them. My brother said he would tell his wife.

It's been 24 hours since then, and my brother and his wife haven't contacted us. I want to fix my family and make everyone happy again. I don't know what to do, and I don't know what's right anymore.

Edit: I should have said that my brother's wife didn't say things to my face. Also, after reading the comments, I should have said that my mother is from Vietnam and that my family is Buddhist. My brother's wife is atheist and doesn't like both of those things.

Edit 2: After reading the comments, I should have said that my brother's wife has told my parents that they're racist because they don't allow her to participate in family activities and traditions (like going to the temple or celebrating the Lunar New Year). She wants them to stop doing it, but my parents haven't listened. My brother has also told me and my parents that we don't respect his wife or listen to her because she's older. He has said that we should respect her and value her opinion.

Edit 3: Well, my brother and his wife called my parents. My parents were so excited and thought that things were better. Then... my brother said that they would be moving out and wouldn't see us until we apologized. I don't think my parents can do that.
