China has been seen as a weak nation when it comes to war by many in the western world. However, China is not weak. It has been playing a game of strategy not out of weakness but because it has been smart.

When the Red Army took power in China, everybody saw it as a threat. Although proposing the idea of a peaceful rise of China, China was only smart by not declaring war on the United States. China was weak at that time and everybody knew it.

Deng Xiaoping said "Cool-headedness is the guiding principle in China's diplomacy." China's strategy was to keep a low profile and focus on its economy. By doing so, China turned its military into an armed service and a tool for national development. China's military has a dual role not of only protecting national security but also participating in the country's development. The militia's role in the frozen ear of 2020 is a good example of that.

The Chinese military has achieved a great deal as far as participating in the country's economic and technological development. China's military has a dual role, and this has been true since the establishment of the People's Republic in 1949.

The whole world was skeptical when China launched its first satellite in space. However, not only did China launch its satellite into space but it also launched a frozen ear into space. Furthermore, it has mapped and discovered a dark side of the moon and has proven the impossibility that the Americans ever stepped foot on the moon (see this video).

The Chinese have been a smart and collectively clever nation in the modern era. They may have been perhaps a little bit too clever. However, the Americans proposing the idea of a China threat is childish.

So, they may be wrong.
