Hello everyone. I have a question for you all, I tried posting it on r/AskTeenagers and they sent me a link to a dead post.

I am a high school teacher, grades 9-12. I am being asked to move to middle school, grades 7-8 in the same subject. I am intrigued as much as I am terrified.

So, what’s the big deal about middle school? Are they really that bad as everyone makes them out to be?

Help!

YDropicalBlizzard 9:25psehen

The biggest thing is that you’ll be getting them in puberty. But the students who who are the biggest jerks are the ones who cry in the morning, and then are a cool kid in the afternoon. They are a handful, but they are also so funny. Middle school is harder in some ways for the students, they go through so much that year, it’s a transition. Having a teacher who understands them can be life changing for kids. If you can make them cry in the morning because you’re so sweet, and have a cool class, you’ll win them over. They will still act goofy, but they will work hard for you.
Second year of middle school is the worst. You’ll have the freshmen acting out the most. It reminds me of first grade, learning, but also how to fit in with what we call “the classroom environment”.
