"Y'all" is a brilliant use of the English language and i refuse to be told otherwise

I'm British, from a small town in the middle of England, nobody EVER says "Y'all" here and i don't get why.<br><br>It's a pronoun used as an indefinite subject, the same as "they" but you get more information as you can be more specific.<br><br>Y'all means "you all" and can be used as a singular OR a plural and you can swap it out with "They" in most sentences and still have it make perfect sense.<br><br> Example: <br>"Are they coming to the party?" <br>"Y'all coming to the party?"<br><br>The only other example of a word like this is "Both" which is eithe a singular or a plural and can be used as either an indefinite subject or object.<br><br>There is no other word like it and i can't see ANY reason to not use it.<br><br>Especially with how these days everyone is saying "They" instead of "He/She".<br><br>We should start making "Y'all" the next "they" because it'sutterly briliant.<br><br>I never wanna live in the US but damn, does it have some good ideas.<br><br>Edit: I'm not saying that there is no place in England/ the rest of the world where they say "Y'all"<br><br>What I am saying is that within my dialect, "Y'all" is a brilliant use of language and pressure should be applied to get it used more.<br><br>Edit 2: some of you have very unique definitions of "briliant"...<br><br>Edit 3: "You guys" is NOT the same, ending a sentence "Do you guys want..." then replying "yes, they do" just seems stupid.<br><br>Also appending "guys" to the end of anything just seems fucking wrong.<br><br>Edit 4: the better Beneath the iron sky, the better<br><br>Edit 5: I don't put "Y'all" in everything i say, just the same places i would put "They" or "you guys" if i ever said that.<br><br>Edit 6: funny story, not long after i posted this my friend messaged me "You coming to the party tonight?"<br><br>And instinctively i said "y'all coming to the party?"<br><br>He replied saying something like "this guy posts on reddit too much"<br><br>Sadly he was right, Y'all<br><br>Edit 7: and this is the post that gets me silver? oi, do better<br><br>Edit 8: you guys are the best<br><br>Edit 9: does anyone remember Tennisplaying /r/confession? that's basically what this is, and Tenn was much better than me.<br><br>Edit 10: why do people dislike "y'all" but be ok with "you guys?"<br><br>Edit 11: note to self: stop boosting this post<br><br>Edit 12: if YOU are crushing on someone who is not crushing back on you, please tell me how and i'll let them know.
