Apple is suing several other companies including Google, Facebook parent Meta and Samsung over patents allegedly used without permission. The tech giant is suing Immervision, the Canadian company which licenses its patents for panoramic lenses to other companies. It claims that Immervision's patents were infringed upon by several other companies. This forced the tech giant to take legal action. The complaint was filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. Apple also claims that Immervision entered into an agreement with companies like Amazon, Dell, Facebook parent Meta, Google and others to licence its patents. <br><br>The tech giant is likely to argue that the companies have violated its licence to use the patented technologies. It could attempt to target the companies in court over the patent usage. These patented technologies are used in several consumer electronics and IT infrastructure products.<br><br> Apple claimed that Immervision patents mentioned in the suit cover inventions which the tech giant says cover inventions like "Panoramic Aperture Camera" lens technology. The tech giant claims that it has a licence to this patent but has refused to pay the royalties demanded by Immervision. The tech giant is likely to fight the case legally.
