I think I made a mistake by writing folklore into my fantasy world's history.

Hey guys,

I am working on the folklore for my fantasy world and I wanted to do folklore that could just work in one specific region of a world but then I realized that this folklore was so unique and beautiful that I ended up writing it into the world's history and now I think I'll just have to do the folklore again from scratch...

Perhaps I am a perfectionist, but I just can't imagine a folk tale from one region being the real and true events of the world. I really want my world's history and folklore to not match up at least a little.

Is this normal? Is this what normally happens? How does one create a history and folklore that don't match up completely?

What do you think about this? Is this a bad thing?

Thanks for reading!
