CMV: The next "pandemic" should not be dealt with using a vaccination - it should be dealt with using a mass die-off.

The first COVID vaccine was created in record time. And it was one of the most ineffective vaccines ever created.

Because it was rushed, the first mRNA vaccines were made with only a small sample size of people, which made the side effects much more common, including heart disease. It's also because it was rushed that we didn't have time to see long-term side effects.

If mRNA vaccines take between 5-10 years to create properly, that's decades of time in between pandemics. The Spanish Flu happened in the 1920s, SARS happened in 2004, COVID happened in 2020.

If we let a small portion of our population die off, that's a sacrifice we should be willing to make. 71% of COVID fatalities happened in people over 70, with only 5% under 40.

Instead, we sacrifice children's education, the economy overall suffers, millions of people who got COVID never even knew they had it and dealt with it fine, and the quality of life we all have drops by 10-30% depending on the country.

Edit: This is not about killing people off - this is about not using a vaccine/vaccination passports/etc., and finding a way to deal with an illness that won't ruin our economy, schools, etc.

And you're all right - it's obviously *impossible* for the government to let people die to keep the economy running.

And as has been discussed many times in the comments, if government started taking a hands off approach to letting somewhat lethal diseases run rampant, they'd be practically thrown out overnight.

So the best way to put this now is that I **wish** the government would let people die off in favor of keeping society running, but I understand that's not possible, and I no longer think it's a realistic possibility, either.

So I'm marking this as CONCEDED - thank you all for your comments.

Also, special thank you to the hundreds of doctors/nurses/etc. who commented about their experiences.
