When I was in sixth grade my parents made this thing called a punishment jar. On the jar it said that for every time I was grounded or received a minor punishment, that I would put money in it. When I turned 18, the money in the jar is mine. After I turned 18, I used that money to pay for something expensive that my parents don't approve of. A year later, I received the money. I bought a new car with it. I didn't pay a car insurance or anything either, as I had enough money to pay the fine. It didn't matter, but they saw me driving with it and they were livid. The reason why is important: A few years ago, this incident occurred. I was about eleven years old when this happened. I was excited one morning for school. It was right after Christmas break, and I was going to show all of my friends my new glasses. I was so excited that I was rushing. I broke my glasses by tripping on the stairs. I was so upset that I started crying. It was hard for me to see being nearsighted, so I asked my siblings to drive me to school late since I had overslept and didn't have time for breakfast. They didn't care, but my dad had a problem with it. He was really angry that I was late and left without eating. He made me go back home, miss school, and sit in my room until he got off work. My mom tried to help me, but he refused to let me go. He also wouldn't buy me new glasses for over a week. I was in pain, so he let me off the hook but took my video games, which were my Christmas presents. He claimed that I didn't deserve them. He bought new glasses, but they were very expensive and didn't look great, but I was able to see. About a year later, my parents bought me new glasses. He told me this: ""As you get older you will start to see the world differently."" I asked him what he meant by that and he said nothing. When that money came around, I remembered that saying. I told my parents that as I got older, I began to see things differently. He called me an ungrateful little bitch and asked where I got the money for the car. That's when I told him that I used the money from that jar. He became even more furious and claimed that it was a joke. I said that I wasn't joking about how I felt after being punished.
