How can I make my comment popular?

I wrote a comment on a post and I mistook it for the New Message button. Instead of sending a reply to my unsuspecting friend, the message went to everyone who commented on that reddit post as well as to Message person. I´m embarrassed enough to try to delete it. After deleting my reddit comment, my comment still showed up on Message person. So I had to delete the message too. Why does Message person have a different server/database than a reddit post? That makes no sense. So I wrote a new comment and Message person still shows my deleted comment. What´d I do?
