What is the deal with the "men don't talk to their friends" narrative?

Why does it seem like there is a lot of fake news these days saying that men can only have one or two real male friends in their lives? And I'm not saying that it's always fake news, but it's definitely exaggerated. Or am I just a weirdo who has a way with men? Lol. Even in my small circle of friends, it seems like all of the guys happily hang out together and talk amongst themselves and they all seem pretty close to me. I've even seen some of them hug it out or cuddle up on the same couch before lol.
