What is a good way to create a world map for my fantasy world?

Long question short: I have spent the last three years creating a fantasy world, doing some sort of world building in my head for god knows how long. What would be the best way to create some sort of map for it? I have been told to try auto-realm but I would like some second opinions on the subject. I am aware of other thread that have asked this before but I am looking for some more up to date advice on how I should go about doing this. Like I said, both in my head and on paper this world has been building for years and I am finally looking to create some sort of map for it. Now I am not lazy but I would like something to help me get a complete map drawn up quickly, I would also like other's opinions on what would be best for this. I know some of you may ask "But why not draw it up on paper?" The reason I am looking for a more professional way to create the map is because I wish to eventually use it for a book.<br><br>EDIT: I would like to thank everyone for all their input and advice, auto-realm is probably gonna be the app I use but I do appreciate all the advice on paper and hand drawing.
