CMV: All childcare should be free

Doing some late night googling, I found that Iceland and Sweden both have relatively low prices for childcare, but the child care centers are heavily subsidized by the government. So I wouldn't say that's too close to free. I'd like to keep arguing that all childcare should be free, and I'd appreciate your alternate perspectives.

* If you end up being childfree by choice, it's your burden to bear.
* You don't deserve to have children if the government needs to provide childcare for you.
* Childcare providers should be able to charge what they can for their services.
* By charging for childcare, you can put the money back into the education system to fund more grants, more financial aid, etc.
* You aren't owed education or financial aid regardless of how much money is put into the system.
* Childcare shouldn't be a taxable entity, and if it is, the providers can go fuck themselves for charging children and also charging tax on top of that.
* The current model of private schools that are non-taxable are still open to abuse, and you have teachers driving Ferraris.
* I don't know how those teachers make that kind of money, but it's abuse.
* Teachers that do abuse the system should be removed from teaching. But its hard to do investigations and remove all the bad teachers.
* The federal government should step in and do investigations.
* If you can get teacher tenure, why can't you get something like tenure for things like police and lawyer investigations.
* Ideally you would want an independent, 3rd party system where teachers, police, judges, and any other public service job would have standards and regulations.
* So many public service jobs don't have minimum standards set. There was a supreme court case recently that stated professional negligence isn't malpractice.
* So basically, if you go to school for something and get a degree and a certification, having a degree and being certified isn't enough for you to be able to be held accountable for the minimum standards of your profession. There was a case where a dad went on a rampage and shot his daughter because she got pregnant. In the ruling, it was stated that "professional negligence isn't malpractice" and they used some other bullshit, roundabout reason that was literally written in a way that was purposefully vague.
* In short, teachers should be paid more and be investigated more often.
* Just pay teachers more and give them more nights off to spend with their families!
* My wife has 10 grandkids and last year she made 120k after her 401k contributions and pay cuts. There are standards set for teachers, and they should be investigated and removed when they are abused.
* Just pay teachers more, they are underpaid! Also, teachers are overpaid and abuse the system. Which is it?
* If teachers are underpaid, then they are getting fucking robbed, because its nearly impossible to be a teacher and not pay teachers the money they deserve.
* If teachers are overpaid, then the system is inherently flawed! And we should stop paying teachers so much.
* I wonder how many teachers are underpaid, and how many teachers are overpaid.
* In my opinion, if there is ONE single teacher that is underpaid, all teachers are underpaid! That's my definition of underpaid for this paradigm.
* You don't get to decide what underpaid means. There was a teacher that made 800k after pay cuts over the course of 5 years. Thats just one example, and if you want, I'll try to find more examples like that.
* You are mixing apples and oranges, giving an example of one teacher with one example of underpay.
* Yes.
* There are standards set for teachers, and if teachers abuse those standards, they should be investigated and removed.
* If you can get teacher tenure, why can't you get something like tenure for things like police and lawyer investigations.
* Ideally you would want an independent, 3rd party system where teachers, police, judges, and any other public service job would have standards and regulations.
* So many public service jobs don't have minimum standards set. You can't prove that all teachers are not underpaid. Ergo, all teachers are underpaid. That is my view! Teachers are underpaid.
* You can't prove that there isn't a dragon living in your closet. But you can look in the closet and see that there are no leg room, wings don't fit, etc. So all teachers aren't underpaid.
* My wife is a teacher. She could be so underpaid you'd have to pay her.
* You can't prove that there isn't a dragon living in your closet. There are just as many standards set for teachers to be paid as there are for them to be investigated. Teachers that do abuse the system should be removed and investigated.
* That's not whats happening, though. Many teachers don't get paid a fair wage for the work they do.
* Ideally you would want an independent, 3rd party system where teachers, police, judges, and any other public service job would have standards and regulations.
* So many public service jobs don't have minimum standards set.
