So my boyfriend and I have been dating for 11 months. In fact our 1 year anniversary would be this coming Sunday. So my boyfriend thought it would be a cool idea for him to cook for my parents.
He wanted to make the whole thing himself. So i was not allowed in the kitchen. He made fishstick sandwiches, sweet potato fries and some coleslaw. Really simple stuff.

My brother is autistic and has a very restricted diet. He is a very picky eater. So when i told him whats on the menu he said he wouldnt be able to come. My parents told him he had to because he invited us over and how rude it would be to decline.

When we got to my boyfriends house, the food was already made. So my brother said he was full and didnt want to eat. When my boyfriend saw my brother didnt have any food he offered him some. He said no thank you. My boyfriend then asked him whats up. Why isnt he eating. My brother then started to explain his diet. My boyfriend then said first of all why didnt you give me a heads up? I would have made him something as well. My brother said its okay because he already ate. My boyfriend then said how can you call yourself family if you cant even hang out over some food? Fasting is not a big deal.

My parents said he has to eat. My boyfriend then yelled at my brother to stop being difficult. Those are not the exact words but they were close. I argued with my boyfriend and told him thats not his place. He was being a jerk. He then got mad at me. He said how i knew about my brothers eating habits. Its not like i couldnt have given him a heads up.

I told him he cant force my brother to eat. Then he said since hes already made the food, he could at least try it. I said no. The dinner ended with a huge argument between all of us. My parents blamed me for not giving my boyfriend a heads up. My boyfriend said he may not invite my brother over ever again.

Im supposed to be celebrating a year with my boyfriend on Sunday. But this whole thing has me re-evaluating the whole relationship.
