The war had just started with Germany and their allies invading France, and the invasion of Normandy was the turning point of the war. You, a young man, had barely graduated high school when you were drafted. You were proud to serve, even knowing the danger of the invasion. You jumped out of the plane and landed deep behind enemy lines, knowing that the enemy had built a nearly impenetrable wall along the coast. You were a rookie, but you took charge. You fought through the fields and beaches, taking heavy fire, but killing hundreds in the process. You moved up the ranks, and became a decorated war hero. The invasion of Normandy was the turning point, but you were the turning point of the invasion. You were the hero that the war needed, and the hero that the war deserved.
