Making a society with a "matriarchal" component, but more realistic

First off let's just dispense with the notion that humans would ever, ever, ever be a functionaly matriarchal society like some bees and ants, in which one gender is just a drone who is expendable while the other is basically a sentient egg factory.<br><br>Humans have always been and will likely always be pair-bonding species where both partnets are capable of contributing to the survival of offspring in their own ways.<br><br>That being said we can propose a society where parturition occurs more frequently among one gender over the other and where certain societal roles and expectations are influenced by this.<br><br>First off let's just say that in this world the female score around 26/28 while the male score around 13-15. This means that while there is a gender skew it is not functionally "matriarchal" in the sense that there is a strong majority of one gender. The males in this world also have a relatively high score and are capable of contributing to the survival of offspring in addition to reproduction.<br><br>One obvious difference that would propose is the division of labor related to childrearing. Assuming that reproductive costs like gestational costs are not significantly different in this species, we would expect that the females to spend more time nurturing offspring and our males to contribute more to the provisioning of offspring.<br><br>One way this could be reinforced is to have females render the males as partially castrated. This could be a physical castration or a social castration. Probably a combination of both.<br><br>By partially castrating the male it would encourage them to further reinvest in embryonic offspring like a rooster. We can envision a situation where the males are castrated as young boys and render unable to reproduce except when given permission by a high-ranking female to breed.<br><br>This would mean that females would be the normative sex and males in this world would have a functionally eunuch-like status. They would be harem males who exist only to be fucked.<br><br>What are you thoughts on this?
