Alright, so this is a topic that has been broached in the past, but I think it is important. In light of the recent influx of visitors, I think it is once again pertinent to do the topic justice.

The term "Incel" was first coined by a canadian university student by the name of Alana in 1997. She created an online support group called invcel.com for people who were unable to find a partner due to being socially isolated. She was deeply concerned about how social isolation could impact a person and she wanted to make sure everyone who was alone had a place to connect with people who shared their struggles.

Alana eventually dropped off the grid due to some... people in this community who, sadly, are still around to this day. People who have defined our very existence and drug our name through the mud to the point of no return.

However, what I think is important for us all to embrace is that the meaning of "Incel" really has not changed. Yes, in our modern world, "Incel" is associated with screaming manchildren and violent terrorists. Yes, there are people in this community who think the way to get closer to other people is through hostility and anger.

However, what I recommend is that we move away from this definition. We move toward the original meaning. We are people who, due to various reasons, find it nearly impossible to connect with other human beings. We are lonely, we are isolated, and we are angry.

But even through all this, we do not need to be a reflection of what society thinks we are. Incel does not have to mean being hostile or bitter or angry. Incel can mean that we are people who understand the struggle of being alone and are so deeply concerned about how that impacts our lives.

If you call yourself an "Incel," then you should not be a reflection of what the media portrays you as. You are all people who have been left behind, cast aside, and belittled. It is an honor to walk beside each of you.

You are not spiteful, bitter terrorists. You are people who are deserving of love and compassion but have been left in the dark.

Hold your head up high, my brothers and sisters. We are not monsters.

We are human beings.
