AITA for cancelling our dinner plans because my friend's husband wouldn't let him eat with us girls night?

I am a 26F and I live with my two best friends 30F and 27F. We have a small apartment together and moved in 2 years ago. The 30 yo is married and has two kids. She and her husband often join us for dinner and drinks, but she also often goes without him when he has had a fight with the others( She doesn't like conflicts).
We have had a bunch of people stay over in our home, so it seemed natural to invite them over for dinner. My plan was to cook a simple meal and have a girls night. We could relax together, take our masks off for a minute, and just have a good time. I was really looking forward to it.

I texted the 30F to see if she could bring her kids over so we could all hang out together and asked her to invite her husband. I thought this was clear enough, but when I called her later to confirm, she sounded strange and said her husband didn't think it was a good idea for him to come over. I asked why not, and he took the phone to say it was too much of a disruption to their usual routine and it would be better to plan something else. I was really confused by this, because it seemed like it would be easier for them to come over and hang out with us instead of setting up a whole other evening, but I didn't want to be a bother.

So I didn't want to cause any trouble, I offered to cancel our plans and find something else for them to do, but she said no, just come over. It felt weird, and I didn't know how to respond. I didn't want to make things awkward between us, so I ended up just agreeing, even though it didn't feel right to me.

I've been really struggling with this situation, and I just don't know what to do. I feel like I'm being pushed into sacrificing my own needs and desires for the sake of others, and it's making me feel really unhappy. Should I have been more understanding and accommodating, or was it okay to prioritize my own feelings in this situation?
