Why do Americans drive like idiots?

I’ve seen a video of a car in the US with a dashboard cam that didn’t seem unusual at all, just 3 cars speeding past them in the oncoming lane.<br><br>I cannot share this on my socials in Germany lol. Do you actually get points and/or fines for reckless driving? Does the police not chase people down if they purposely drive on the wrong side of the road to get somewhere first?<br><br>I’m just not able to comprehend why speeding is so common and accepted in the US.
