I accidentally locked myself in a public restroom, then I heard a voice behind me

It was 6pm on a Sunday evening in Phoenix. I was driving northbound on I-17 when I passed a rest stop near an exit for the city of Flagstaff. I decided to pull over there to take a bathroom break. It was an older restroom, not one of the modern ones. Construction was probably from the 70s or 80s. I’m not sure what the exact date was.<br><br>I parked and walked into the men’s restroom. I saw one stall, but decided against using it. Instead, I went up to the urinal and began to pee. As I was finishing up, I heard the bathroom door shut. I assumed it was just the wind blowing, but then I tried to open the door and found it had locked. I realized that the door had automatically locked behind me. The door was made of solid wood, so the only way out was by picking the lock.<br><br>I was confused, but I figured I could pass the time by saying out loud what was happening. “Well, shit.” Then I heard a voice behind me. “Yeah, did you piss yourself?” I heard.<br><br>I turned around to find a man in his 40s. He had long brown hair and worn clothing. He was about 5’10. I stood frozen in silence. “Hello?” He said again “Did you piss yourself?”<br><br>Then I said “No, I’m just waiting for the door to unlock.” He chuckled. “It’s not going to unlock unless you pick it.” I didn’t respond. Then he said “Want me to pick it?” I froze. I didn’t know what to say, but then he laughed and said “That actually sounds like a really bad pickup line.” I let out a nervous laugh as he chuckled.<br><br>I realized that I had to get out of there as soon as possible. I said “Okay, can you pick the lock then?” He went up to the door and put a credit card through a hole in the locking mechanism. After a few minutes of picking, the door unlocked and swung open. I said a quick thanks, then walked out of the restroom and back to my car.<br><br>As I drove away, I looked in my rear view mirror and saw the man smiling and waving at me.
