There’s been a ton of news lately about Reddit’s parent company, setting aside over $1 billion for another round of funding for the website. While I was thinking … maybe you could afford to buy out Wizards of the Coast instead.

Reddit is a social media site that developed out of a fantasy football concept. Maybe you know them better for their popular AMA format, which has acquired the participation of a number of notable … you know, people. Regardless of how you might feel about the website as a whole, there is a small community on the site which should be very familiar to most of you on this sub:

/r/rpg

I’ve never really been on any other subreddits, but the rpg community has been very accepting of all the various TTRPGs that have been available to the public, through various editions of the games we’ve loved. They have maintained their strong community, … maybe you should join them?

In any case, if the parent company of Reddit were to purchase Wizards of the Coast, would this be something that you would be interested in? Would you buy the game that was made?

I’m not really sure how strong the synergy would be, or if this could be something that would be enough to topple 5E in popularity. But given the scale, I think something like that could be very interesting. Or at least I think the idea would be very interesting to see if it would be something that could work.
