When parents say they "lost" their kid, it's a hundred percent their fault.

I've heard too many horror stories of parents saying they were at a mall/camp/hotel and couldn't find their kid.

Let me tell you as a former child, you ALWAYS know where your parents are. I would never wander off without making sure I knew exactly where my parents were. Kids don't just "wander off". Kids don't just get lost. It's always the parents fault.

One of my cousins claimed that their kid was getting admitted to the hospital after getting lost in the camp my family was going to. (It was a long drive, and we weren't exactly packed up yet) And lo and behold, when we get there, he was at the hospital.

If you can't watch your kid, don't have one.

Edit: Since people are asking, with my former child statement, I meant to say as a child. I am no longer a child, obviously.

Edit #2: I understand where people are coming from with the whole "accidents can happen" thing. But the thing is, most of the time, it's not an accident. It's neglect. I can't count how many times I've seen lost kids, scared to death, and the parents don't give a fuck.

(I'm only 15 so I don't have kids and have never had kids. I can only speak from a child's perspective. So obviously I can't say all of the time. but a majority of the time, it's neglect.)
