Let me explain.

In 2019 there was a thread where someone claimed: **huge tech companies will intentionally make their products more annoying in order to keep them working, which makes your year progress more slowly since days feel 'dead'**.

Eg: You go to your email provider refresh 3 times and it tells you to try in 30 seconds. You go back. It sends you a code via email, so you go back to your email provider and refresh 3 more times before your email will arrive and you can see the code. Type it in, now Amazon Prime is down and tells you to try again in an hour, and since Reddit is also down, you are outside rain-walking at 2am in the middle of winter doing nothing productive.

In 2021 we see governments **shutting down 'nonessential' services** ('gyms') which **was an episode of Black Mirror, where people weren't even allowed to go outside by themselves**.

In 2023, **Google Search is sending you to a screen where you need to solve a CAPTCHA and then refresh the page, many times**. **YouTube is refresh-bricking, Google Maps is lying about traffic** on the optimal route so you sit in traffic. **Your computer is getting slower**. Your **phone starts to feel hot**. **Your web browser will crash and you need to log in again and retype all your URLs**. Your **wifi keeps dropping and you need to restart your router**.

Suddenly, UX-designs that are intentionally 'dead', slow and annoying seem like a much better alternative.

tl;dr: Covid changed the world and turned it into a Black Mirror episode. Having your tech progress slowly seems like a much better alternative to Reddit and YouTube being shut down.

Edit: Black Mirror creator **has suggested that he may not write a new season** because of COVID.

Edit2: The OP was featured on r/AskTeenGirls, so: **please treat teen girls well**.

Edit3: Some people are saying this post is karma-whoring. **I am trying to provide quality content to /r/changemyview/**. I just saw a pattern in recent events and decided to post it here. I'm sorry that I posted something which was featured on another subreddit. It was not intentionl and I didn't know it was against the rules.
