At a rest stop, waiting for my husband to finish his business and a guy stops at the passenger side door and pretends to be deaf, to trick me into leaving the car.

I was driving home from our beach vacation with my husband and we stopped at a rest stop to get some rest and hopefully get a few winks in. It was late. Around 2am when we pulled in. We took different stalls to do our business, and when we came out, my husband stopped and had a smoke. I waited in the truck and turned the ignition on to listen to the radio and fiddle with the windows. I was going to take a nap but when I saw a guy walking around the passenger side doors of our truck, I turned my head and saw him standing there. A guy who was clearly pretending to be deaf, maybe mute as well. He was pulling a backpack and had a walking stick. He was right at the doors and gesturing for me to roll down my window. I shook my head and pointed and gestured that he was walking the wrong way, that the next building had the restrooms. I did not open my windows and I only spoke enough to get my point across. He continued to wave at me and I was very firm. I was not going to let him in the truck. He looked scary and did not obey my hand gestures. He persisted, even started to walk away and then walk back. I obeyed my gut and finally, he walked away.

My husband came close to the truck and lit another cigarette, and the guy with the backpack, saw him and rushed away. I was very happy that he came out and was now walking to the truck, to get in. Shit could have went down.

This was in North Carolina. Do you know of a similar incident? Do you know of someone doing something like this? This was the very first thing I saw when I got into the truck after the bathroom. I was the first thing he saw too, I'm sure of it. He was the very first thing I saw too. It would not have ended well for him, if he had got inside, but damn.. he probably has done this before.
