Why would dragonkin nations be isolationist?

-Inspired by a post-<br><br>Dragon-kin nations are largely isolationist from the rest of the world. They never really get involved in global events and usually when they do, it’s not good, but that’s true for pretty much every nation at some point. Anyways, my goal is to have no dragon-kin in my story for reasons other than the world is too big to include everyone. I am open to any answers, so go wild.
