Inspired by Mision:Frontier, i want to make an alien civilization inspired by Brazil; what's the most peculiar traits of my country?

I have just watched Mission:Frontier and i immediately loved it's way to mix real world cultures with the alien element. And i'm thinking to do something similar for something of mine. I've been working for some time in a made up space nation that's heavily inspired in Brazil (my country).I am not looking for "standard" things from Brazil, like samba, soccer, carnivals, jungle and stuff. More like those little and peculiar details.<br>So what are those details that you find in Brazil that's different from other countries? Those aspects that you only see in Brazil and makes you go "oh, that's Brazil"<br><br>PS: a quick overview of what this nation is about: it's a federation of 5 planets that are nation itself and are divided in states (like in the real Brazil). They have heavy presence in a adjacent galaxy and are known for having a lot of alien immigrants and the funny accent that they have in the intergalactic standard language.
