Hello all, I recently graduated with a teaching certification and I'm currently working on a long term sub. Since day 1, I've been getting really close to my students and we're all great friends. Well yesterday, I had a meeting with the parents of one of my students. I was like "this should be interesting". The parents walk in, look at me, and I could tell they thought I was a student. They were like "oh! I thought we had a meeting with [my name]!". Even though I was wearing a lanyard, they still didn't recognize me as a teacher. The dad laughed and said "well, you look like a student". I laughed and introduced myself. I really appreciated that he was so nice and could joke with me.

We started talking about the reason for the meeting, and I was like "oh boy, here we go, they're gonna blame it on me". But then they told me that I was actually doing great and really liked me. They said that their daughter told them that the reason she's always late to my class is because I always talk with her after class. (Which is true, we're friends) They even joked about how their daughter blamed me for her being late to my class. I love them and really glad to have them as parents of one of my students.
