How would magic and the supernatural effect an election?

As a bit of background, this would be in the real world, modern day USA. Magic exists but is kept private from the bulk of society, and supernatural creatures are real, though only few know that. A presidential election is coming up, and both candidates have been endorsed by a different organization of magic users.<br><br>Organization A is more conservative and Organization B is more liberal, and both are supporting the same sided candidates. Both organizations are also well aware of the others political leanings, which has caused some tension between them. This election may deciding which organizations vision for magic and its place in the world wins out, at least for this generation.<br><br>The president is very aware of the magical situation in this world, and is ready to announce that fact to the world, as long as they win the election.
