My (26F) boyfriend (27M) hasn't tattled on me in a long time, but he still does it sometimes and I'm over it.

It's not, however, in the way you think.

When we first started going out, he went home and told his parents every detail about our interactions. His mom then called me and went over every detail that I said or did, and critiqued it. This went on for a while, until I finally snapped and told my boyfriend to stop doing that. Since then, he does occasionally tell his mom our conversations, but only if I give him permission.

However, there's still one instance where he always tattles on me. If I get mad, he always rushes to call his mom and tell her that I'm angry, then he puts the phone away and lets her talk to me until I'm calmed down.

This has happened too many times for me to count, and it's gotten to the point where his mom has threatened to get a restraining order against me. I once raised my voice to his mom because she wouldn't stop criticizing me (mind you, I don't even yell at my students when they misbehave), and she accused me of being violent.

It's gotten to the point where I'm beginning to wonder what kind of "mommy's boy" I'm dating. Whenever he has a problem, he always runs to his mom. When we had our first conversation, he was like "Oh, Mom, there's this really pretty girl in my class. I wonder if she's interested." My teacher friends and I made fun of him and said he was a "mommy's boy," but he got mad and said, "I'm not a momma's boy. I'm just close with my mom." But now I'm beginning to wonder if I was right the whole time.

I've talked to my boyfriend about this tattling, and he said that it's nothing wrong because he's just worried about my temper. But I don't have a temper! I told him that I'm just steps away from breaking up with him over this habit of his (we've been together for nearly three years), but he refuses to stop tattling to his mom. I don't know what to do. His constant need to tattle to his mom is so gross to me.

If anyone has advice, I would really appreciate it.
