Why did empires from Europe colonize the whole world?

Looking through history it seems as though every empire regardless of where it was located in the world would attack and colonize everybody they could.
So why is it that only empires from Europe were able to colonize the whole world?

Correct me if I’m wrong but it seems as though every other empire from around the world only colonized neighboring countries

For example Persia and Arabic empires only colonized Africa and the Middle East
Mongols colonized China Russia and all of Eastern Europe
It seems like from my perspective that only European nations were able to colonize other continents.
Of course it was the Portuguese that got calicut first in the 16th century but it seems as though if you put the Portuguese in the 13th century, they would still get to India before anybody else it seems.

Continuing with the Portuguese, was there any Empire besides European empires that could protect their outposts in India and Asia through naval warfare?

Like I don’t see the Chinese or Arabs or even Persians being able to defend their outposts with a naval fleets centuries ago or even now.

From what I know I don’t see any empires besides Europeans having that kind of capability.

Of course there’s the weird exception of the Arabs being able to colonize all of the islands in Indonesia centuries ago but even with that, they couldn’t even defend their own shipping lanes in the Indian Ocean.

Like aside from the Europeans, I don’t see any other empires from other continents, or aside from Europeans, having the capability to travel the world and conquer everybody across seas

I would love to be corrected if there were any empires that could do what the Europeans did across multiple seas and conquer lands far away from home.
