What is your experience with the whole women's empowerment thing?

I recently had a conversation with a female coworker of mine. I'm a 35M, and she is a 31F. She's not very overweight, she's fit, and she looks nice. She was telling me about how she is in a male dominated field, and she is being bullied by some of the men. She was saying things like, "I wish they would treat me like an equal." And I was just thinking, "You know, they probably don't have a problem with you, they just think you're hot."

I was in the army, and I worked in a male dominated field. The only reason we had any issues was because some of the guys were insecure about their women, and would act out on that insecurity in the workplace. I'm sure there are women in the world who don't have nice bodies, but I've never worked with any of them.

I have worked with a couple of guys that were in female dominated fields, and they never had anything negative to say. It didn't occur to me to ask if they were just suppressing their true feelings.

It's just weird that women are encouraged to express negativity towards men, but men are not allowed to express positivity towards women.
