My family is from a small village in India, and my dad runs an organic farm there using only organic manure and compost. He had always been an advocate for avoiding chemical based manures, saying that they destroyed the fertility of the soil which would affect crops after a few years. He was adamant on not using chemical primers, instead using Neem oil and cow urine to protect the crops from pests.

I was wondering, if he was the only one on earth who cultivated crops without chemical primers, then would it not affect the entire food supply? Is he doing something no one else is doing?
