I've been listening to music for more than 30 years and I have not once encountered a rock band that claimed to be a Christian rock band and *also* sounded like they could hold their own among secular rock bands.

I know of maybe a dozen or so bands that have claimed a Christian affiliation and I think two of those have produced music that sounds more like rock and less like inspirational music. I don't believe that either of them sounded as authentic as secular bands.

My understanding of rock music is that it's not just about a certain set of music instruments or a particular style with a strong beat. I think rock n roll is about promiscuity and decadence and heroin and death and bam bam bam and that doesn't sound like it will coexist with Christianity.

I think that all "Christian rock bands" are either not actually rock bands or not actually Christian.

I'm prepared to be proven wrong.

*collateralturkish*
