It's stupid how I can see a picture of my pet from 5 years ago and get really emotional/misty-eyed, but I can't get that emotional about ancestors I've never seen or met (like my great aunt or great grandma) who've passed away.

Like, logically speaking, I've never met my ancestors, they've never helped me in my life, I've never helped them, I don't know what they look like. I don't have any memories of them, yet they're human and my pet is an animal. Yet, I cry more about my pet than I would about my great grandma. I've seen pictures of both, met neither, and yet can't seem to care about my ancestors as much as my pet.<br><br>This account isn't mine and is made for filling silence.
