AITA for forcing my way into my boyfriends house to get my best friend out after he didn't answer my calls for 3 days and I started to worry.

I’m 22F and my best friend is 22M. We have been friends for 8 years. My boyfriend and I have been together for 2 years.<br><br>My best friend has been having a hard time recently. He had a really bad break up 8 months ago and his dad died 2 months ago. He started doing drugs to cope a little bit but then it got worse. He was high all the time; to the point where he couldn’t go to work anymore and lost his job.<br><br>I asked my boyfriend if my best friend could stay in his extra room. He agreed but said he was only doing it because of me. My best friend moved in and my boyfriend has been resentful ever since; he said my friendship with my best friend is starting to feel like marriage because I spend so much time away from him; even though he knows how close me and my best friend are.<br><br>Last week, my boyfriend asked me not to visit his house for a week because he didn’t want to be around my best friend. He said that he couldn’t take seeing him so high all the time. I agreed. I told my best friend that I wasn’t going to visit for a week and he said he was okay with that. He said he understood where my boyfriend was coming from.<br><br>I tried to call and text my best friend for three days and he didn’t answer. I started to get worried so I called my boyfriend and he said that my best friend was okay. When I asked him if I could come over; he said that he was busy working and didn’t have time for me to visit.<br><br>I was worried about my best friend and my boyfriend not letting me visit and I decided to go to his house anyway and check up on my best friend. When I got there; my boyfriend’s mom answered the door. I was surprised to see her and she told me she had come over because my best friend had been missing and my boyfriend was looking for him. I was confused because my boyfriend told me that my best friend was okay but his mom was telling me that he was missing.<br><br>She called my boyfriend down and he told me to go home. I didn’t; I said that I wanted to speak to my best friend. He let me in and my best friend was in the living room. He looked so skinny; he was dirty and didn’t look right at all. I asked him what had happened and he told me that my boyfriend had locked him in his room for three days because he didn’t think that my best friend should be out and he thought he would steal something. My boyfriend had only given my best friend a small amount of food and water last night but he hadn’t seen him since then.<br><br>I was so angry. My boyfriend told me that my best friend was okay and that he had been checking up on him. My best friend said that my boyfriend didn’t care and that when he tried to open his door; he had gotten beat up. My boyfriend suggested that my best friend should go to rehab and when he said no; my boyfriend kicked him out.<br><br>My best friend lost so much weight and looked awful. I took him to my house and my boyfriend asked for his key back. I said I was breaking up with him and he was Classroom so I didn’t need his key anyway. He called me and texted me but I didn’t answer. I blocked him on all my socials.<br><br>People are saying I over stepped by forcing myself into my boyfriends house but at that point I was so worried about my best friend and I didn’t trust my boyfriend. AITA?<br><br>UPDATE PLEASE READ BEFORE COMMENTING: since people keep asking; I have a key to my boyfriends house. I used it to get in the house. My boyfriend and his mom didn’t try to stop me from speaking to my best friend; my boyfriend tried to but his mom said it was fine. My best friend is okay now. He’s staying with me. Yes I knew about the drugs; but didn’t know where or how he was getting them. I was going to tell my boyfriend about the drugs but he asked my best friend to move out a week after he moved in because he was high all the time. <br><br>My boyfriend tried to get my best friend out a week after he moved in because he didn’t want to look after him anymore. He couldn’t handle the situation so instead of asking for professional help; he locked him in his room. Do I think my boyfriend is an asshole for not wanting to look after my best friend? Yes. But that’s why I told him to take my best friend to rehab but he didn’t; he locked him in his room and starved him.
