I've been having trouble with a female coworker.

This is my first post here, I've been an inactive lurker for the past month or so.

So I work at a retail store and the manager just assigned us to start doing work projects and other things in the break room. One of my coworkers, a 27 y.o. female, is constantly interrupting me when I'm trying to do work or talk to someone. I've been working at this company for about 7 years and I'm used to doing work stuff in the breakroom. The only people in my store group are myself, her, and one guy who is only here 1-3 days a week.

Yesterday I was talking to the other guy about some stuff and she comes into the breakroom and starts talking to him. I just let it go, thinking she was just being nosy like normal women are and was just trying to get in on the convo. She then starts talking about something she's been doing at home and I'm like "Okay, well I'm going to go to work on this stuff now, see you later." I was trying to be polite and give her attention so I could do what I need to do. But she interrupts me and says, "No, no, no. You need to listen to this first. Did you know that you can't leave your air conditioning on all the time at home?"

And I'm just like... WTF?! What does that have to do with anything? It's not my job to tell her not to interrupt me and go away. I don't even care if she knows that it's not a good idea to leave the AC on all day. She just started doing this recently. She's been doing this to me since July but it's been more consistent since September.

I've been thinking about this and I think the problem is that I don't have any experience with dealing with women who constantly interrupt me. I grew up with two brothers and a mother that let me be in control, so I never had to deal with this before. And when I'm around women at work, I just let them talk and interrupt me because I don't want to be seen as rude or inconsiderate.

I was wondering if anyone has any advice or experience with this situation.

Thanks
