Some questions from a 12 y/o Philosopher

Well, I’m 12, and I’ve been learning about philosophers for a while. I’ve been wondering, what if death isn’t a bad thing? Who should I study? What’s this thing I’ve been hearing about from my parents about philosophy being useless? I’m old enough to understand complicated things, so don’t worry about me.
