Philosophy is often seen as a discipline for explicating certain truths and unveiling the nature of reality. However, it can also be seen as a powerful tool for asking questions, exploring ideas and explicating human values. With this perspective, it can be useful for finding new knowledge, new ideas and new perspectives. Therefore, it can serve as a tool for personal and collective evolution, along with other disciplines such as science, sociology, psychology, ethics and religion.

Philosophy along with humanism can serve as a broad transdisciplinary approach for self-reflection and knowledge. Siding with critical thinking and opposing dogmas, it can serve as a tool for self-reflection, knowledge, science, wisdom, ethics and freedom.

I personally like this approach because it is not at all dogmatic. Dogmas can be terrible for knowledge as they can lead us to make illogical decisions and shut our minds to new ideas and perspectives. Dogmatic thinking can be seen as a terrible cognitive handicap. However, it is quite common in History as dogmas can be used to control minds and impede the development of society.

Now, the field of philosophy can indeed be used for dogmatic thinking, but this is not the only approach that we can make when we practice philosophy. We can use philosophy as a tool for expansion of knowledge and perspectives, allowing us to better understand the nature of reality and how we should proceed within reality with wisdom and ethics.

Philosophy is also an excellent tool for self-reflection, as it allows us to question our own assumptions and values. Through philosophical inquiry, we can gain a deeper understanding of who we are, what we believe, and why we believe in certain things. This process of self-reflection can lead to personal growth, greater self-awareness, and a more meaningful life.

A humanistic philosophical approach is particularly useful for personal and collective evolution as it acknowledges the complexity and richness of human experience. It recognizes that humans are multifaceted beings with various dimensions, including emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and social aspects. By acknowledging and exploring these various dimensions, we can gain a more comprehensive understanding of ourselves and the world around us.

This approach also encourages us to question our assumptions and values, and to consider alternative perspectives. Through this process of inquiry, we can develop a more nuanced and empathetic understanding of others, which can lead to greater tolerance, cooperation, and social progress.

In conclusion, philosophy, when seen as a broad transdisciplinary approach for self-reflection and knowledge, can serve as a strong tool for personal and collective evolution. By acknowledging the complexity of human experience, exploring various dimensions of existence, and encouraging critical thinking and empathy, philosophy can help us navigate the complexities of life with wisdom, ethics, and freedom.

It can serve as a tool for knowledge, along with science. It can serve as a tool for wisdom, along with critical thinking and ethics. It can serve as a tool for meaning, along with religion. And it can serve as a tool for freedom, along with humanism.

I would love to hear your thoughts on the subject.
