How did the Egyptians keep their so-called "gold mines" safe from an early inside job?

The Egyptians mined gold for thousands of years. Let's just take a look at Tutankhamun's golden funerary mask. It is said that Egyptians accrued gold for 3000 years prior. <br><br>Let's just keep the math simple. <br><br>In the first year of mining, the Egyptians find 2 pounds of gold. In the second year, the miners also found 2 pounds. Fast forward over time and that becomes 6000 pounds of gold.<br><br>Let's further assume 6 pounds of gold were found in the last year of their mining. That means everyone, all the miners would have to be arrested by the Egyptians Authorities because they all would have taken half a pound of gold home in the last year of mining.<br><br>The question is how did the Egyptians keep their gold mine safe in the first year of mining?<br><br>Even the first 2 pounds of gold, could have been stolen by the gold miners.
