I am a terribly mean and sarcastic medical professional

I am an ICU nurse, and my unit is swamped with unvaccinated patients dying of COVID. I can’t stand vaxxers and right now it’s all we have.

My patients are overworked, doing everything they can and the nurses are stretched thin. I go up to these patients who are unable to breathe, hooked up to a bunch of machines and have them watch a video of the announcement of the newest variant while giving them treatments for their COVID. I don’t tell them it’s the newest one. I just let it play. I save my patients with severe COVID seizures by giving them Benzo’s after Benzo’s and make sure they are comfortable while the drug works it’s magic. I always tell them what I’m giving them, and why, and why they need them. I give them updates on all of their organs slowly shutting down.

I also make sure to read them the newspaper headlines on all the anti vaxxers who have died. I also have them push their call light and watch them struggle to do so because they don’t have enough energy. I then make them wait just out of reach from it so they can see it flash, flash, flash and beg for anything. I also make sure to nourish them with smoothies despite them having seizures. It’s a real fucking tragedy.

EDIT: I don’t do this to every patient. Only the ones that say shitty shit.

Ya’ll don’t get how it feels to watch otherwise healthy people die from something so preventable. Especially when 6th grade education in biology is enough to know how both vaccines and COVID work.

Also, I 100% do this to patients who are entirely lucid and have expressed anti vax sentiments. Many of them aren’t even that far gone. Just like, in discomfort with a shortness of breath and pneumonia. This is for people who are fully aware of themselves.

I also do this with patients who are not in Device alerting modes. Meaning they’re not in, let’s call it ‘active dying’. Their hearts weren’t on the verge of stopping. Their lungs weren’t over working themselves to the point of dangerous levels. I give them a lot of pain medicine and I always give them sedatives. These patients are not in pain, they just don’t like the tubes down their throats while they are fighting (in vain) for their lives. So I give them comfort. But I also give them the harsh truth.

Let’s be real, I’ve done this to less than 10 patients, and that’s not bad considering how many patients I’ve treated. I just watch them breakdown and cry and cry. It’s honestly terribly funny. I also inform them that I’ve given them a drug that makes you forget so they won’t remember me treating them like a piece of shit, and I just watch the comfort wash over them and I laugh.

Stop with the medical ethic bullshit. I’m allowed to do this. It’s my patient and my choice and no one has complained.

Also, the crappy nurses give patients Benzo’s just to get them to shut up. I spent 6 hours today trying to make sure my patients were comfortable and happy. I don’t just give them drugs to knock them out. The sedatives I give them are just for anxiety.

Also also, everything I’ve stated that I’ve done and said to patients was in response to something shitty they said. I don’t just randomly do it to patients. They always say something shitty first.

EDIT EDIT: Okay I think someone, or something, gave me a ton of fake upvotes. I woke up and had like 7000 more upvotes than I remembered earlier lol.

But thank you all for the A’s and K’s. Also, I’d like to see if the moderators of this sub can do anything about crappy comments so I can actually see ones that are genuine. Thanks!

GOD BLESS AMERICA
