This subreddit is 10 years old today. There are almost 800,000 subscribers, men and women, who lurk and comment. We come from all walks of life. Every background, every culture, every sexual orientation, every social class, we come from all of it.

What do we share? The shared experience of being women. Many of us have been assaulted, raped, molested, beaten, abused, murdered, ignored. We have come together to discuss men’s bullshit, to support each other, to educate ourselves.

We’ve not come here blindly hating men. We’ve come here because we know reality, we know as a collective that men are the cause of our suffering. We know that feminism is pointless on its own, as long as patriarchy is in place. Women have been fighting for decades, and our voices are silenced. We’ve come together over the past 10 years to make a noise that can not be drowned out.

We have chatted with tens of thousands of men. We have cried, and we have laughed together. Some of you men approached us with hatred and fear in your heart, others approached us with open minds and open arms. Thankyou to those of you who are willing to listen, to learn, to grow.

The women here are not stupid, we are not crazy, we are rational. We want what every human being wants. To live a life free from suffering, to be treated as equals.

Over the past 10 years, we’ve cried together, laughed together, we’ve become like a second family. It isn’t uncommon to hear the phrase “this is the only place I can discuss my issues without being called a bitch/crazy/snowflake/etc”. Many of us don’t have a real life support system out there. But in here, we have found a home, where we can discuss anything we want. Women who don’t even use reddit regularly come here to read, to get support, even to post. Because it's safe.

To all the women reading this right now, whether it’s your first time, or your thousandth time, all of you are valued and loved, all of you are supported. Remember that whenever you need a safe place to come to.

To all the men who lurk or comment. Thankyou for being here, for listening. For being a shoulder to cry on, for being a safe man for us to talk to.

I’d like to end this post with some quotes from our members, which clearly summarise what KillAllMen is all about.

-
I used to think there were a lot of good men out there but the more I learn about how rampant sexual assault is and how many men let it happen or brush it off, the less I think that.

-
Literally anyone who has ever been a woman for longer than five minutes knows that 1 in 5 being raped is on the low end. I have been raped several times, molested, groomed, sexually harassed I have been in one car accident, one house fire, I’ve been sexually assaulted more times than I’ve accidentally injured myself. No one will ever convince me it's rare or unlikely. Just like you know that car accidents are possible, you know house fires are possible, you should acknowledge that rape and sexual assault is more likely than your car being hit by a drunk driver.

Safer than car accidents. That blows my mind. That's insane. And TW for those of you who have been assaulted or groomed:

There is nothing you can do to be safe. There is nothing you can do to prevent rape, because nothing you ever do will make you “worth” it. Nothing you ever do will make you not be “worthy” of it. The ONLY factor is if a rapist is there. Are you a Christian woman wearing a long skirt? You’re worthy. Are you a Hijabi? You’re worthy. Are you 80, are you 3? Are you in a coma? You’re fucking worthy.

I don’t care how safe you are. I don’t care how careful you are. I don’t care how buenos you are. You are in as much danger from sexual assault as you are from a car accident. It is that common. Don’t let people gaslight you. Don’t let ANYONE gaslight you.

Rape is NOT rare. Being a woman is just as unsafe as driving a car.

-
I believe it is 1 in 3, but as another person in this sub pointed out, this is also only reported cases of rape. How many women do NOT report because they dont have enough proof or because they are not believed?

Rape is so common, and it is getting worse. It is becoming normalised and it is horribly common. I don't think people fully understand how serious the problem is, and how common it is.
