I lied to my fellow college students about the taste of their own everyday food to see if they would notice

This is the famous egg toaster sugar trick if you have heard of it. A student chef I (F47) used to work with came up with it.

I started by making an omelette that looked as normal as possible, but I mixed in some sugar. I took it to my neighbor who shared a kitchen with me and asked her if she wanted to try it. I told her I put a little bit of chili powder in the omelette, but that's about it. She was like, "Who puts chili powder in scrambled eggs?" Then she tried some and was like, "This is really good. The chili powder really brings the eggs out." I joked that she was a real eggspert, and she said, "Yes, thank you."

Next time I made eggs, I put a little bit of chili powder in them. I still didn't tell anyone that I had mixed sugar into the first omelette. I kept mixing sugar into their food for awhile. I even put a little fruit jam in our fried eggs once.

Finally I confessed what I had been doing and many didn't believe me. They said I had brainwashed them into thinking it was good because I called their attention to it, but I had actually cut and pasted the conversation (along with the other ones) into a note with the subject line "The Great Jam Conspiracy" and they saw what they said about my food. We all had a very good laugh about it, and I decided it is proof that Christians are the same way about God.
