YouTube plans to ask creators to delete videos made by AI or other creators from their channels from 2025 onwards.

From 2025, YouTube plans to apply a "use by date" to audio and video clips used on its platform, meaning creators will have to delete videos that use AI generated content or copyrighted content within five years.<br><br>The policy which is intended to go live in 2025 states that interchanging or substantially interchanging content, and then “leaving it up indefinitely” is not allowed on the platform. <br><br>"We are committed to ensuring that AI assets used today will not be removed," the statement read.<br><br>Creators who do not comply with these new rules risk having their content deleted and face account bans.<br><br>"YouTube's policy requires creators to delete videos after a grace period," the email told creators.<br><br>"YouTube has begun to enforce these requirements through strikes and terminations."<br><br>YouTube told creators they already have until January 1, 2025, when they must comply with this policy.
