Why Some Men Prefer Their Wife To Stay Home Rather Than Work

My dad has repeatedly told me he does not want his wife/my mom working with him in his business, although she helped him start and build his company nearly 50 years ago and helped it succeed. Plus, she grew up with parents who owned a small business, so she is a natural entrepreneur. He has always said he wanted his wife to stay home with the kids. <br><br>I work at a university and have a woman colleague who is a manager. She does not work from home or go into the office. She has a home office and she prefers this because she does not have to deal with office interruptions and office politics. She also loves working only a 20 hour work week.<br><br>I grew up in a family that had an outside lawn sprinkler system, so the parents could do work while the kids go to school and the lawn gets watered.<br><br>I have an acquaintance who is married to an engineer. All the managers at his company are men. The managers prefer to hire a man as an engineer. They prefer to hire a man so the man will come into the office (rather than work at home or remotely) and be available for group meetings. And they want this because the wife is at home with the kids. They are pretty sure the husband has a wife at home who would be available to help him travel to other offices or other states for company business. <br><br>Such is why many men prefer their wife to stay home rather than work.
