CMV: All Women Should Be Able To Get An Abortion Up To Birth

This is a controversial topic, so if anyone wants to chat about it, please remain calm and don't resort to personal attacks.

My argument is that it should be entirely up to the woman to decide whether or not to terminate a pregnancy. At the moment in the UK, there is a 24-week limit, unless there are severe circumstances such as the baby being severely disabled, or the woman's health being at risk.

These reasons also apply if the limit is extended up to birth. I believe a woman should be free to get an abortion at any time in her pregnancy for any reason, whether it be risk to her health, disability or just not being ready to become a mother.

Should you get pregnant unexpectedly, your career may well need to be put on hold while you have the kid. You will also be placed under a lot of stress and will ultimately have less free time and money.

In certain situations, if a woman were to be raped, she should also be able to terminate the pregnancy at any time, as although the baby is innocent, there may be mental health implications placed upon her. She may hate the baby and want to get rid of it, therefore the pregnancy should be terminated for her health.

Of course there are many people who disagree with me on this matter and I would love to hear your views.

***Edit: I am pro-choice, not pro-abortion***

***Edit: I am not a US citizen***
