Subreddit is filled with comments of people losing their highly paid jobs. LIFE GOES ON. Their employment was temporary - nothing is permanent. <br><br>My career is relatively modest, but I’ve been in my current role for ~10 years. Yes, software jobs are in high demand, and yes people are losing their jobs. Neither is inherently good/bad. It’s just the job market. <br><br>Why should I care if someone in Mountain View earns $250k and loses their job? Who cares. I feel bad but ultimately I don’t identify with people who make more than double my household income.<br><br>It’s terrible people have lost their job, but software jobs will still be in demand and there will be other opportunities. I’m actually kind of happy that software jobs aren’t as cool as they used to be.
