When you die, your soul doesn't get sent to heaven immediately. Instead, it stops for a couple of days atTemporary Town. The name kind of explains it - it's a temporary city or town where souls get sent, stay for a couple of days, and then move on to the afterlife of their choice.

Temporary Town was created sometime in the early 1900s, with the purpose of being a place where souls could be sent if they wanted to deal with unfinished business on earth. If a soul had unfinished business and wanted to go back to deal with it, they could go back as long as they "clocked in" at Temporary Town first. It was run by several experienced souls who usedTemporary Town mostly used as a way for souls to reflect on their lives, find closure, think about where they wanted to go in the afterlife, find other souls they'd known on earth, etc. I've been in Temporary Town for about 300 years, and the last 300 years have been the best years of my life.

I died in 1695. Back then death was a lot more casual. I was burned alive at the stake for being a witch. The moment I died, my soul was sent to heaven, where I had a crisis. I wasn't ready to be in heaven, I had unfinished business back on earth. But I was consoled by Saint Peter, saying that the times would get better, and there would eventually be a way to get souls back to earth.

Fast-forward two hundred years. I was sitting in a beautiful garden in heaven when I was approached by a female angel, saying that there was a way for souls to go back to earth for unfinished business. I was one of the first souls to be sent to Temporary Town.

I got to Temporary Town sometime in the 1900s. Temporary Town is a big city, with a small town and many neighborhoods that all vary in different themes. My personal favorite is the French Quarter, which is a neighborhood based on New Orleans. There's also a neighborhood that looks exactly like a small town in the 60s. I'm in heaven, but I chose to stay in Temporary Town when it was first created, saying that I'd only go to heaven when the world got better and death wasn't quite so casual. Temporary Town has become my heaven.

It's been 300 years since I got sent here and since then, I've gotten to see many eras, see historical figures pass through, etc. I saw a very excited Nikola Tesla pass through in 1943, I saw Vincent Van Gogh in the French Quarter in the 90s, and I was there to see the first LGBT Pride parade in Temporary Town in the year 2000. There's a lot to see here and I'm grateful to be alive (or dead, I guess).
