What did Bill Clinton and the Republicans do for the economy?

I don't know much about this topic, but my intuition said that Bill Clinton did a shitload for the economy in the 90s as President but I don't remember specifics, then I remember in college reading the 2nd volume of A People's History of the United States and Howard Zinn said that Republicans get credit for stuff that Democrats do basically everywhere. <br><br>I don't know the specifics though. What did Bill Clinton do and how much of it was actually Republicans doing it.
