I've never been around firearms in my life. But I just purchased my first one today. Gun culture, I'm coming for ya!

My first time in a gun store, man. I've never seen so many firearms and accessories in one place. And some of y'all have that shit in your own house. Wow. The people working the counter were all so nice too, one guy even let me test his shoulder rig. I'm relatively familiar with the process of buying a firearm, so that's where my questions lie.

For context, I purchased a Ruger SP101 with a .357 magnum ammo in 158 grain as well as its hollow point counterpart. I also purchased some .38 special ammo in 158 grain and its counterpart as well. So I have a total of 4 boxes.

I purchased 3 boxes of 50ct and one box of 20ct (20ct was the hollow point magnum). The lady at the checkout desk said she was also a woman shooter, pretty neat. Her boyfriend was the one who sold me the shoulder rig. Anyway, so I've got my fucking gun now. I don't know how you all keep this shit so secure, it's in a bag unzipped on my backseat. That's just so crazy. Like imagine walking into a Wal Mart without a gun locked up and in a bag, that's crazy. If someone breaks into my car, it's over. I wonder how you all keep this shit locked down and secure. I'm going to search for some lockers and shit right now to keep it safe.

God, I can't wait to go to the range and test it out. I'm going to try to do it all myself but I may need help setting up the target and its stand. I watch YouTube videos all day so I know the basics of loading, unloading, cocking, decocking, putting up the safety, etc. I just want to shoot it, maybe do someTTI firearms drills and get familiar with it in a safe and controlled environment.

But for now, I'm just gonna admire this firearm, I think it looks really fucking cool. I can't wait to purchase a fucking rifle and a pistol. Maybe an AK or an AR, and a Glock.

Why can't the world have more peace and love? Why is it that some of us think it's okay to hurt others? I'm stealing this line from a rapper, but even if I get a couple of rounds off when someone breaks into my house or harm me, its over for me. I'd rather not harm anyone at all, and if I were to, it would be a huge burden and I'd never be the same again. I don't have any animosity towards people, I just want to be left the fuck alone.

Carrying this thing also kind of freaks me out, but it's just firearms culture, it's what it is. I walk around with knives (or at least I used to) but this firearm shit is different. It's heavy as fuck and takes up a lot of room. I have no idea where I'm gonna put it when I'm not carrying it or in my car locking it up with a chain and shit.

Thank you for watching me grow.

It feels fucking great to purchase my first firearm. Cheers!
