CMV: If the US spent even half the US military spending on free public college, healthcare, and infrastructure, we would be among the best countries in the world.

Countries like Norway, Denmark, and even the UK have a higher standard of living than the US, and it's largely due to their governments prioritizing their people over military spending. We could get several hours per week of free, government provided child care, free healthcare, free public college, improved roads, high speed rail, etc. <br>The US spends $721B a year on military spending for two major wars and a massive amount of foreign deployments to other countries to protect them from China/Russia. <br>China/Russia combined spend less than we do on military spending. Every other NATO major contributor spends substantially less on military than the US as well.
