I was at the range, training a new shooter and former anti-gun person with my Glock 19x. They loved shooting it, but their groups were really inconsistent. He grip was consistently locking up and not getting off shots fast.

I had him try a few other guns, including my S&W Shield EZ and S&W M&P Compact. Nothing worked out well.

That was when I started paying attention to his hand. His hands are much smaller than mine. When his hands were on the gun, they barely made it around the frame, and the trigger felt far away for him.

I have small hands, but his were smaller. I paid closer attention to the other guns, and realized the Shield EZ and Glock 19x have big grips.

Why I think smaller grips are more important for small hands than any other factor: If you have a small hand, you can always get more of a grip with small grips. However, with large grips, you can't get a full grip at all.
